Evan and Chloe have gotten their boxes filled with Cubees back out again and have made a few more over the last weeks. Recently we set up a really great tent on the deck which quickly morphed into an art studio for the morning.
Chloe has been obsessed with the Chester books by Melanie Watt. She moves this stack of three books all around the house and I always find her curled up with one somewhere. She also loves to draw Chester the cat since he's outrageously huge and makes the greatest facial expressions.
In each book there is a scene where Chester gets put in a costume against his will, and that is what Chloe made into cubees. She made three but I only have a photo of this one in the pink tutu:
Evan had some Star Wars ideas that turned out better than expected from the boy who never draws or writes. He made General Grievous in the art studio, copying his action figure with great likeness.
He also made a Tie Bomber all on his own with no computer print-out to help him. This is completely his own design!
The little art studio was such a hit I think we might try to set it up at least once a week and see what happens under there.
