We Are Hermits

Over the course of the last several week, Evan and Chloe have assembled every puzzle they own (I think there are 10). 

Chloe ran out of surface space and started layering puzzles.  This seems ridiculously hard to me, but she did two of them this way.

They spent days constructing and testing paper airplanes.  (Amazingly enough, they dismantled most of their origami animals to make airplanes so the amount of paper creations stayed the same.  Win, win.)

I checked out a stack of Caldecott-winning books from the library and we have realized that 97% of them are terrible.  So disappointing.

But at least there are lots of redeeming ones available, including about fifteen Bill Peet books which the kids can never seem to get enough of.

We have watched three movies in two weeks (which is outrageous for us) and are eager to watch another today.  We have also played insane amounts of Battleship and Uno together.

All this because we are officially wimpy.  One rainy week of not being able to go outside has destroyed us.   Today, it is 42 out and we can't bear how cold it feels.  We open the door to let the cats come in or out and run back in freezing to huddle under blankets and continue on with puzzles, airplanes, good books, movies and games.....
